WHAT is an egress window?

An egress window is a window that meets International Residential Building Codes for local communities. Most codes require the windows to work as an emergency exit from the room or liveable areas. Older homes in the Edmonton and Calgary areas often have small basement windows and will require cutting the concrete in the foundation to enlarge the window to meet the municipal egress codes.

Before you start

We can easily install the windows we supply. However, if you pre-purchase your own windows you may need the actual window installation to be done by your supplier. This will be determined at the time the quote is done.

A 30% deposit is required for specialty work/windows.

CanWest keeps windows in stock at all times, so unless your home needs a special size, delivery is immediate. We carry only galvanized metal window wells. CanWest is fully insured, a long standing member of the BBB and COR Safety qualified, with an A+ rating with WCB.

1 year warranty on windows which covers leaking under normal weather conditions.
